Moonscape Dev Diaries

Dev Diaries is a weekly publication by the Moonscape team. It is published to enlighten friends and fans of the Moonscape project about the Moonscape game.

Dev Diaries premiered its first episode on December, 8th. It has four wonderful episodes altogether and the fans are keen to learn more about the Moonscape game. From the episodes of Dev Diaries, I have prepared an easy-to-learn summary. These are important info that will help you maximize your earnings and opportunities in the Moonscape game.

Summary of Moonscape Dev Diaries 1

Dev Diaries episode 1 introduces the Moonscape game, how to start a city, and the different buildings that can be set up in a city. How interesting!

Launching the game for the first time, you will appear close to an empty city and you’ll be asked a question via prompt if you would love to start your city there. You can move into your city once you accept the prompt.

In the moonscape game, each account can have only a maximum of three cities. There will be five (5) empty slots per city and eight (8) types of buildings from which you can choose to fill your building slots. Each building is unique in features and functions.

Seven (7) of the eight (8) types of buildings will contain two different types of function, one will be a DeFi function, and the other a gameplay function. DeFi functions allow you to earn for your time spent in-game, this is otherwise known as Play-to-Earn or P2E. The gameplay function will allow you to improve various aspects of your cities, from defense to resource extraction and more. With these functions, you can grow your city to become an empire.

Detailed below are the functions that will be available in the different buildings.

Summary of Moonscape Dev Diaries 2

This episode of Dev Diaries elucidates more about the buildings that will be in the Moonscape Game and the different functions of the buildings. This second episode in the series highlights the following:

How to earn Moondust

If you to get Moonscape’s premium resource — Moondust, one simple way is to stake. You can Burn or stake MSCP in exchange for Moondust rewards. However, this feature is only available in the Construction Complex building, which can only be constructed once per account. Therefore, endeavor to know the buildings.

Moondust is the premium currency in this fictitious Moon-world. It has a number of uses including improving DeFi features and speeding up cooldown times. To get a good amount of Moondust, you will need to know the available options.

There are two ways to get Moondust. First, you can spend MSCP, the game’s official Token. This process is simple: just spend MSCP and obtain an amount of Moondust proportional to the amount spent. The other option is to stake MSCP. This one will generate a smaller amount of Moondust, but you can combine both options for a tremendous outcome.

How to use the DeFi Features

DeFi Features

In the first season of the game, players can anticipate three (3) tried-and-tested DeFi features: Single Token Staking, NFT Staking, LP Staking.

  • Single Staking is available in Transaction Square and Industry Inc.
  • LP Staking is available in Resource Corp, Asset Mill, and Capital Forge.
  • NFT Staking available in The Refinery and Power Plant.

This is easy to understand! Fans will recognize these options as similar to other pools on Seascape. Stake your tokens or LP and yield some sweet rewards over a period of time. And as always, the more you stake, the higher the rewards.

NFT staking works similarly but instead of staking a crypto token, you stake Scape NFTs, and the higher the quality and lower the generation, the better the rewards you can rake in. Read more about scapes from previous articles.

In Moonscape, when you are about to construct a building, you may notice it says, Single Token Staking, but it doesn’t say what single token you will be able to stake. This is because when you build, the game will assign at random a pool from the options available. So how does that work exactly?

Let’s assume that the pools available for that season in the Single Staking category are MSCP, CWS, and GLMR, and all will reward CWS. If you decide to build the Industry Inc. building in one of your cities. In the selection screen it will say that one of the functions is a Single Stake token, but not which one. Go through with the construction and once it’s finished, the game will assign one of the tokens at random.

What if you didn’t get the token that you wanted… There’s only one solution: build more!
